Artist's Biography

Carol Peek grew up in Marin County, north of San Francisco, where she developed a love of farm animals and unspoiled nature. When her talent for drawing and painting led her to become a professional artist, she combined her two passions, creating works of art out of the pastoral subjects so dear to her heart.

In the growing movement of plein air "realists," Peek stands apart in her ability to capture the emotions inherent in particular scenes from nature depicted at various seasons and times of day. Peek paints in a tradition that dates back to such 19th century masters of outdoor painting as Asher B. Durand and Albert Bierstadt.
